Call for Abstracts
SPECTRUM invites researchers from around the world to share their work with peers and industry. Every submission is peer-reviewed, and accepted abstracts are presented orally at the meeting.

The 2027 submission window and the notification date will be announced. When submissions open, this page will carry the closing date and the date by which authors are notified of acceptance. Prepare your abstract now, so it is ready the moment the window opens.

What a submission contains.
With every submission
- Abstract title
- Concise and specific to the work.
- Author name(s)
- The presenting author listed first.
- Author institution(s)
- An affiliation for each named author.
- Category of submission
- The discipline your work speaks to most directly — chosen from the meeting's fields below.
The abstract itself
500word limit
- Purpose
- The clinical or scientific question the work set out to answer.
- Material and Methods
- Study design, the population or specimens studied, and the techniques and analysis used.
- Results
- The findings, with the figures that support them.
- Conclusions
- What the findings mean for practice, stated plainly.
- Tables and Figures (if applicable)
- Include them where they clarify the work.

How abstracts are reviewed
All submitted abstracts undergo peer review before acceptance. Reviewers weigh four things.
- Quality of research
- Rigour of design, methods and analysis.
- Educational or scientific content
- What the work adds to the field.
- Logical presentation
- A clear line from question to conclusion.
- Impact on healthcare
- Relevance to patient care and everyday practice.

What acceptance brings
Accepted abstracts are presented orally at the meeting, before a multidisciplinary audience drawn from the nine disciplines the programme brings together. Acceptance also carries a registration benefit for the authors named on the work.

Fellows and residents
Residents and fellows whose research is accepted for oral presentation have their registration fee refunded on the last day of the conference.

How to submit.
- Prepare the submission
- A submission is your contact information and a single Word document containing the abstract, prepared to the specification above.
- Send it to the management office
- When the 2027 window opens — dates to be announced — send it to the SPECTRUM management office.
